Dimensity 9400

The Dimensity 9400 is MediaTek’s flagship phone chip from October 2024, and it still sets the standard for discounted flagships from that generation. MediaTek announced it on October 9, 2024, on a 3 nanometer TSMC process.

NanoReview rates the Dimensity 9400 at 88 overall, with 89 for CPU performance, 82 for gaming and 93 for battery life. Those are the aggregator’s own composite scores, not PetaTech24 tests and not hours of battery use.

The Bigger Picture

Flagship chips from 2024 now appear in discounted and used phones, and that is where the Dimensity 9400 matters most in 2026. The evidence says the CPU and graphics class still holds up, while newer chips lead on newer memory, graphics and AI features.

MediaTek claimed gains over the Dimensity 9300 of 35% for single core work and 28% for multi core work, with 40% lower power use (MF). Those claims were reported at launch by GSMArena, not independently measured.

Dimensity 9400 Specifications at a Glance

The Dimensity 9400 uses MediaTek’s second generation all big core design, with no small efficiency cores. One Cortex-X925 core leads at 3.62GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores follow at 3.3GHz, and four Cortex-A720 cores run at 2.4GHz.

The Dimensity 9400 AnTuTu 11 GPU subscore is the largest part of the total, at 972,096, or about 34%. The Geekbench 6 multi core figure sits about 3.1 times the single core figure. PCMark 3.0 rests on six models, so treat it as the thinnest figure here.

Remember that sustained performance depends on each phone’s cooling design, software tuning and ambient temperature as much as on the chip itself. A thicker phone with a better vapour chamber can outperform a thinner phone running the same silicon.

Dimensity 9400 Graphics, AI and Camera Support

The Dimensity 9400 graphics unit is the Mali-G925 Immortalis MP12, a 12 core design running at 1,612MHz with 1,536 shaders and 4,952.1 GFLOPS of listed compute. The MP12 core count is part of the specification, not decoration.

For AI work, the MediaTek NPU 890 is listed at 50 TOPS of theoretical performance, with on-device LoRA training claimed by MediaTek (MF). Theoretical TOPS figures from different vendors are not directly comparable.

Camera support reaches a single 320MP sensor, with 8K video at 60 frames per second and 4K at 120 frames per second. Sensor, lens and tuning in each phone decide the photos.

Battery Life: A Phone Property, Not a Chip Verdict

NanoReview’s battery life composite for the Dimensity 9400 is 93, but that is the aggregator’s own scoring system, not a measured endurance result. It should not be read as hours of use.

The vivo X200 Pro pairs the chip with a 6,000mAh battery and 90W charging, and GSMArena measured 14:56 hours for the Chinese model and just over 15 hours in its global review. The Oppo Find X8 Pro measured 15:18 hours, while the smaller Find X8 measured 13:58 hours.

Bottom line on battery: No identical-condition battery duel was found across the reviewed phones. Treat battery life and charging speed as properties of the specific phone, not of the chip. Do not pick a chip winner on battery.

Connectivity in Daily Use

The Dimensity 9400 modem list centres on sub-6GHz 5G, with MediaTek claiming up to 7Gbps with 4CC carrier aggregation (MF), plus Wi-Fi 7. That package matters mainly for buyers on sub-6GHz 5G plans and for users who already own a Wi-Fi 7 router. Most buyers in Bangladesh, South Asia and much of Europe will see no daily benefit from extra modem headroom alone.

Wi-Fi 7 speeds need matching equipment. Listings differ on the Bluetooth version, with NanoReview listing 6.0 and a launch-era listing giving 5.4, so this profile states no Bluetooth version as fact.

Dimensity 9400 Phones: Which Handsets Carry the Chip

NanoReview’s phone listing names six handsets with the Dimensity 9400, and the AnTuTu 11 totals below come from that listing, tagged (CR). The spread between the highest and lowest totals is about 208,000 points.

Quick Answers

What is the Dimensity 9400 AnTuTu 11 score?

The Dimensity 9400 headline AnTuTu 11 total is 2,825,187 in NanoReview’s crowd aggregate (CR), with a CPU subscore of 900,074 and a GPU subscore of 972,096. Per-phone totals range from 2,727,275 to 2,935,203.

Which phones use the Dimensity 9400?

NanoReview names the Oppo Find X8 Pro, Oppo Find X8, vivo X200 Pro, vivo X200 Pro mini, vivo X200 and vivo iQOO Neo 10 Pro. Availability differs by market, and buyers should confirm the exact variant sold locally.

Is the Dimensity 9400 still good in 2026?

For everyday speed and demanding games, the Dimensity 9400 class still holds up, and discounted 2024 flagships can offer strong value. For the newest memory, graphics and AI features, newer chips have moved ahead.

Does a higher AnTuTu score mean better battery life?

No. The battery composite of 93 is an aggregator estimate, not measured hours, and battery life depends on battery size, display and software. No chip winner on battery is declared here, because no identical-condition test supports one.

Final Word

The Dimensity 9400 is a genuine flagship chip on the evidence available: a 3nm process, an all big core CPU, a 12 core GPU and aggregate scores at the top of its generation. The evidence is pooled and phone dependent, not controlled lab proof.

  • Pick a phone with this chip if you want a discounted 2024 flagship for gaming, and the phone has reviewed cooling and a large battery.
  • Pick a phone with this chip if you already want a specific handset in the phones table for its cameras or display.
  • Pick a phone with this chip if it is officially sold in your market, at a price below a comparable newer flagship.
  • Look elsewhere if battery life is your top priority and another phone offers better reviewer endurance at your price.
  • Look elsewhere if you mainly browse, message and stream, where the gap to cheaper newer chips is too small to feel.
  • Look elsewhere if the only way to get the phone is an unofficial import with no clear warranty or update policy.

At the same price, prefer the better phone overall: the better screen, cameras, battery size and software support. Do not over-index on specs. A benchmark gap of a few percent matters less than the display, cameras and battery you use every day.

Check the exact chip name on the spec sheet, confirm the variant sold in your market, and compare whole phones at the price you will actually pay.
