Apple Creator Studio

Apple announced an update to Apple Creator Studio on October 27, 2026, adding built-in MotionVFX tools, a natural language image fill tool, and beta AI assistants across its creative apps. The update arrives on the App Store in November as a free update for existing subscribers, MacRumors reported. The catch: the assistants are in beta, US English only, and need newer operating systems on Apple Intelligence-capable hardware.

Apple Creator Studio groups Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, Compressor and MainStage with premium versions of Keynote, Pages and Numbers. The largest changes land in Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro and Pixelmator Pro.

Brent Chiu-Watson, Apple’s senior director of Worldwide Product Marketing for Apps and iCloud, said: “This is our most exciting update since the launch of Apple Creator Studio. MotionVFX content in Final Cut Pro gives subscribers rapid access to extensive professional video effects and content, bringing incredible value to the suite.” Judge the update on the requirements list as much as on that promise.

The Short Version

  • Final Cut Pro for Mac gains built-in MotionVFX: thousands of effects, plug-ins, transitions, templates, titles and motion graphics, plus video assets in the Content Hub.
  • Pixelmator Pro gains Generate Fill: select an area, describe the change in plain language, and the edit matches the surrounding light, perspective and texture.
  • Logic Pro gains a beta intelligent assistant, a redesigned Browser with a Splice library, and a Stem Splitter that isolates drums without the original multitracks.
  • Keynote, Pages and Numbers gain beta assistants that understand document context, plus Model Context Protocol support.
  • The Apple Creator Studio update arrives in November, free for existing subscribers. New subscribers pay $12.99 per month or $129 per year in the US (USD).

The Bigger Picture

The bigger picture for Apple Creator Studio is consolidation plus gating. MotionVFX content now sits inside Final Cut Pro, and the Content Hub, with newly added video assets, sits there too.

Stock video, photos and backgrounds can fill gaps without leaving the timeline, Apple said. That saves steps on deadline work.

The assistants mark a shift in how Apple builds AI features. Apple said the Logic Pro and iWork assistants use Apple-built models and OpenAI models. How the two model families divide the work was not stated.

Final Cut Pro

Final Cut Pro for Mac now includes built-in MotionVFX, previously a third-party content maker, as MacRumors reported. The integration brings thousands of effects, plug-ins, transitions, templates, titles and motion graphics tools, including rotoscoping, tracking and color grading. The Content Hub adds video assets inside Final Cut Pro.

Workflow changes follow the new content. Editors can open an image from the timeline in Pixelmator Pro, edit it, and save changes back automatically, with no reimporting, Apple said in its announcement. Final Cut Pro also gains image generation from text descriptions, more keyframe easing options, clip disconnect from the primary storyline, and 23 new transcription languages.

Pixelmator Pro

Pixelmator Pro introduces Generate Fill. Creators circle an area and describe the change, or use Free Selection, Quick Selection or Magnetic Selection for precision, Apple said. Generate Fill matches the lighting, perspective and texture around the edit, and Super Resolution upscales the result.

Generated elements can merge into existing layers or sit on new layers with intelligent masking. No separate hardware requirement for Generate Fill was stated in the announcement.

Logic Pro

Logic Pro gains an intelligent assistant in beta, powered by Apple-built models and OpenAI models, Apple said. It helps creators start a song, set up a vocal track from a single prompt, navigate workflows, or refine an open project.

A redesigned Browser on Mac centralises loops, instruments and effect patches, while music understanding tags added sounds. The Browser also adds a Splice library, and a Liquid Glass design highlights waveforms and tracks.

The enhanced Stem Splitter isolates, replaces or rebalances drums without the original multitracks, Apple said. Logic Pro also adds a Producer Pack from Sergio George, with piano and Latin jazz and salsa loops. The Logic Pro assistant is Mac-only.

Keynote, Pages, and Numbers

Keynote, Pages and Numbers each gain a beta assistant, built on Apple models and OpenAI, that understands document context, Apple said. In Keynote it designs, animates and refines slides.

In Pages it drafts and restructures text. In Numbers it organises data, recommends chart types, and builds custom tables.

The three apps gain stock video in the Content Hub and new premium themes and templates.

Model Context Protocol support in Apple Creator Studio lets external AI agents read, edit and automate actions in the three apps. Workflows can start outside the app and finish inside it.

Check which outside tools you connect: an agent that can edit can also change a document. Apple published no list of supported agents.

Motion and Compressor

Motion adds built-in MotionVFX plug-ins for color grading, 3D camera tracking and one-click selection, Apple said. It also adds text-to-image generation, Pixelmator Pro round-trip, and a Displacement filter. Compressor gains Cinematic mode encoding for video from iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo.

Apple Creator Studio Assistants: Who Can Use Them Today

The Apple Creator Studio requirements list decides who meets the assistants on day one. The Logic Pro assistant is Mac-only and requires macOS 27 on an Apple Intelligence-capable Mac.

The Keynote, Pages and Numbers assistants require an Apple Intelligence-capable device running iOS 27, iPadOS 27 or macOS 27. Model Context Protocol support is Mac-only and requires macOS 27.

All assistants are in beta and US English only, MacRumors reported. The requirements apply to the assistants and to Model Context Protocol support, not as a blanket condition for every editing tool in the update.
